Frequently Asked Questions
What size awning is best for a 4WD?

A 2m×2m or 2.5m×2.5m awning is ideal for most vehicles, offering enough shade for cooking, sitting or relaxing at camp. Larger 270-degree awnings provide full wrap-around coverage for touring setups..

Are 4WD awnings waterproof?

Most quality awnings are made from water-resistant or waterproof materials like polycotton or ripstop canvas. They protect against light to moderate rain but may require additional walls for heavy weather..

Can I mount an awning to any roof rack?

Yes. Most 4x4 awnings fit standard roof racks, platforms and canopy racks. Just ensure your rack has the appropriate mounting channels or brackets for a secure installation.

Do awnings need poles or can they be freestanding?

Traditional side awnings use poles and guy ropes for stability, while some premium 270-degree awnings are semi-freestanding but still recommended to be tied down in windy conditions.
